CLIMA Labs
CLIMA Labs, directed by Professor Brianna Castro at Vanderbilt University, is an interdisciplinary research group dedicated to examining the relationship between climate change, human migration, and adaptation policies. The lab primarily focuses on how nations respond to climate-induced displacement and the legal frameworks that shape migration in this context. By analyzing current policies, CLIMA Labs aims to assess their effectiveness and provide research-based recommendations for improvement.
Contributors to the lab's research include Vanderbilt undergraduate students from a wide range of interdisciplinary fields, bringing perspectives from environmental science, sociology, economics, law, and other areas. These students assist in various projects, helping to broaden the scope of research.
In addition to policy evaluation, the lab produces case studies, develops tools for policymakers, and publishes research that informs public debate. CLIMA Labs is committed to advancing global understanding of climate migration and helping shape policies that address the growing challenges posed by climate-induced displacement.
