I enjoy teaching at the intersection of environmental challenges and social life. At Vanderbilt University, I regularly teach two courses that consider this important intersection, SOC 1030 Environment and Society and SOC 3311 Climate Change and Society. In my courses, I prioritize building skills that translate into other courses as well as careers related to climate change and the environment.
I also have taught and trained students at the undergraduate and graduate levels in research methods. Here are a few examples of courses I have taught in the past:
Graduate Seminar: Qualitative Social Analysis
Undergraduate Course: Models of Social Science Research
Undergraduate Seminar: Urban Diversity and its Discontents
Undergraduate Course: American Society and Public Policy (with Professors Theda Skocpol and Mary Waters)
Virtual Course Design: Back to the Future: How the Past Imagined the Cities of Tomorrow
